Visit
The hillfort and surrounding land is privately owned and there is no public access. However, you can view the site from the public footpath on the track that passes through the original entrances. The site is currently grazed and access is restricted to the track only. You can easily see the interior of the fort though and enjoy the wonderful view from the track. To access the track along the ridge, park in Bishop Sutton and follow one of the marked footpaths up the hill. Its mildly strenuous but well worth the effort! Turn right at the top and you will soon come to the eastern ramparts. The path enters the fort by the eastern gate past a second (internal) rampart, crosses the fort and then exits at the western gate where little of the ramparts survive. You can continue down the track to the west to meet the A368 and then turn right back to Bishop Sutton. This is not advised though as the road is narrow with blind corners and does not have a footpath along side until you reach the village. There is a link to directions for a circular walk below otherwise just retrace your steps....
